Egypt Plans to Launch a Medical Tourism Platform

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, held a meeting to follow up on the progress of the medical tourism file, review the standards for regulating operations, and emphasize the importance of providing high-quality services to attract healthcare investments.

In a statement published today (Tuesday) on its official Facebook page, the Egyptian Ministry of Health said that the meeting covered several topics, including the requirements for implementing the project, the launch of the medical tourism platform, the organizational structure of the technical secretariat, financial budgets, and the national strategy to expand services across all governorates according to the health map.

Minister Abdel Ghaffar affirmed that the project supports Egypt’s Vision 2030, aiming to position the country as a regional and international hub for medical tourism by leveraging its geographic location and human expertise.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the ministry’s official spokesperson, explained that the minister stressed the need to coordinate with partner entities to localize the medical tourism industry through innovative approaches, reinforcing Egypt’s leadership in healthcare and capitalizing on its diverse tourism resources.
